Membrane and Organelle Dynamics Group

The goal of the Membrane and Organelle Dynamics (MOD) Group is to bring together labs across the Cornell campus studying topics related to cell biology, with emphasis on membrane-related processes and organelle dynamics. The MOD group organizes monthly meetings on the first Thursday of every month featuring research from participating labs across campus. Current areas of research interest include: mitochondrial biology, autophagy, protein trafficking and quality control, proteostasis, organelle biogenesis and turnover, pathogen membrane remodeling and interaction, lipid signaling and membrane dynamics, Golgi homeostasis and trafficking, lysosomal biology, membrane transport and receptor function, transmembrane protein signaling, plasma membrane signaling, ER homeostasis and protein folding, membrane protein structure and function, nuclear mechanobiology, and chloroplast biology.

The MOD group organizes monthly meetings featuring research from participating labs across campus. MOD participation is open to all interested labs and their lab members at Cornell. Open slots are available to new participating labs or current participating lab members (postdocs, senior grad students, technicians, etc) who would like to present outside of the regular rotation. If interested in presenting, please contact Tara Fischer (tdf45@cornell.edu).
